Bombay Terror Attack

There is no heroic act in these terrorist acts. They are only cowards. That is why they kill unarmed humans. No public should discuss about their skill in carrying out the strikes, the well planned attack etc. But everyone who discusses this attack should loudly say that the terrorists are cowards. It is also clearly known to all, that mighty US could not eliminate attacks. So our Security system need not be blamed for this. But this is not the case with the present government. It is evident from the reported speech of our internal security? minister’sstatement that no time frame can be fixed for the execution of the persons involved in Parliament attack even after the Supreme court cnfirmed the death sentence twice. But the present government needs alround appreciation since it has ordered our forces to storm the places of terrorist attacks. Anyhow my condolences to those killed but they died for a cause. A stern warning by India that we will not negotiate with terrorists. Keep it up India!

DAD IS ALWAYS HERO

Mr. Palanivel’s felicitation function! He has been awarded with Jaycees International Trainer Fellowship. The only man to get this honour in Tamil Nadu and only 4 persons in India got this prestigeous title, he is the 4th to get it.

Who is Mr. Palanivel? If you see a man who always tries to attract everyone’s attention wherever he is and also succeeds in his attempts, whether it is a group of collegues, a meeting with higher officials, or a conference with eminent persons like supreme court judges or lawyers, then he is Mr. Palanivel. He is also my friend. Iam honoured to get his invitation. I am also thankful for giving me a place in his list of invitees.

The one thing that touched my heart is the part of Mr. Palanivel’s narration of his elevation to this level. He said when he searched for his name online (at Jaycees web site)in the internet, he could not find the name ‘Palanivel’ or ‘S. Palanivel’. But only Subbaiah Palanivel. He said this was Godmade. At this place his voice choked. He could not continue his speech for a minute. His body jolted silently due to his crying. He continued. “Enga appakku nan onnume pannala…,. Ippa naan senjutten….,.” (I did not do anything to my father…,. I have done it now…,.) At this moment everyone of us gave him a big round of applause.

The honesty with which he remembered his father and the tears that trickled down remembering his dad has done everything to his father. Mr. Palanivel has given his father a befitting tribute through his tears. This feeling is unique to everyone who remembers his father.

It is always my thinking irrespective of one’s father’s contribution or position Father is the Hero figure to everyone. For me too My father is a real hero in my life. His looks were superb. The photo in which he posed with hat and glasses is superb. Not only in his looks. He is the Godfather to everyone in my family. He headed a family of about 12 persons.Everyone in my family respects him with fear and admiration. He is fondly called as “Anna” by all my aunts and my chiththappa. He is the one who got all his sisters married to good personalities. But he could not see the marriage of his sons (me, my brother) and his daughter. But my Chittappa who is no more now, has fulfilled my father’s unfinished task. My father is also called “Chanakya” among his close circle due to his ideas and knowledge. So my father is always my Hero.

This is also reflected in the recent film “Varanam Aayiram”. This hero story continues as a chain. Now, Iam the Hero to my son. My son Sankar Anand who is doing his B.tech. III year in SASTRA University also saw this movie and expressed his feeling to my wife. He said he choked many times in the first half. When Surya said “Dad You are my Hero!” he too felt that I was his hero. I do not know what made him to call me his hero. Anyhow thanks to him for giving me the title ‘Hero’.
